In our latest newsletter, news from our last volunteer Madeline. Gorkha Hospital celebrates 50 years. Two of our trustee’s Amir and Geeta, their daughter Ashwini goes to Gorkha to visit family, and was able to witness a Women’s Health Programme in a poor rural village.

Contributions to Teacher training workshops on autism and other learning disabilities, along with supporting and sharing ideas with teachers in a number of schools. On visits to the Shree Mahendra School, Madeline was able to show her passion as she played with the Disabled children. She visited for several evenings after school and worked with the teacher to provide ideas and guidance. Madeline was an inspiration to the children and the teacher.

Children from local schools, Balmandir, Mahendra Joyti, Nawajoyti, Gorkhkali, Ratnalaxmi, Manakamana Deaf School all gathered in Gorkha at the Balmandir School to be given their uniform and equipment funded by GDS. This is all made possible with the support we get from sponsorship
