Founder of GDS Joy celebrations 93rd Birthday

When retired school teacher Joy Leighton first visited Nepal over 30 years ago, little would she realise that her impact on the Gorkha community would continue 30 years later.  The initial aims of improving health and education for the poorest people and also enabling volunteers to sample the beauty and culture of the mid hills of Nepal as well as support projects are still the aims of GDS. 

Chair Linda Blunt shared stories when she visited Joy to celebrate her 93rd birthday with cards, flowers and most importantly cake!
