School Hygiene programme success.
Our excellent hygiene programme has taken place, back in the summer, for the first time since Covid. Gorkha hospital confirmed that the lack of understanding relating to hygiene remains a cause of disease and illness especially in children.
The classes held over 12 weeks are run by the women’s group GWA but this time were supported by the local nurse and the teacher of health in the school. Topics such as clean water, toileting, food hygiene and personal hygiene were evaluated throughout the programme and a great improvement was seen over several months. We send our thanks to Sarita and team for all their efforts to make this happen. Volunteers Alistair and Helen also joined the classes when in Gorkha.
