Volunteer updates from Gorkha
Volunteers Tess and Sam arrived in Gorkha in the New Year and were greeted by our dedicated committee who helped develop their individual programmes. They were also greeted by their host family and welcomed into the Gorkha community. Tess and Sam spent 3 months working with children in schools and the Higher Education campus, as well as being involved in GDS funded projects. Busy since their return to the UK we are thrilled to provide some of their feedback on their life and experiences in Gorkha.
Welcomed into the family,
The family we lived with during our time in Gorkha welcomed us with open arms and made us feel so at home. They included us in their family traditions, attempted to teach us Nepali, we cooked together, played games, and shared stories. We really felt part of their family and it was such a special experience that we will both treasure.
