Wickham Bishops Horticultural Club help raise £320
Club Chairman Mike Hall invited GDS Trustee Lin Blunt to make a presentation on ‘Plants and People of Nepal and helping after the earthquake’. As well as covering plants seen on the Himalayan trek of Annapurna circuit and the contrasting tropical Terrai in Nepal, the talk gave an insight into GDS and its work. The club very kindly paid £80 for the talk, £80 was raised through a raffle. Donations and sales of plants and Nepali jewelry brought by Lin raised a further £124 and Gift aid to be claimed will be £36 so totaling a superb £320. Thanks to Mike and Jane for arranging the evening and all the helpers and contributors at the lovely event.
