Women’s Hygiene Programe in rural area funded by GDS
After long delays due to covid, we were thrilled to hear Megan was able to join a women’s hygiene programme in the rural village of Masel where forty women turned up to listen to the gynaecologist from Gorkha hospital give her talk. Many of the women attending have no access to health care and may struggle to understand what is wrong with them when they come face to face with a problem. The doctor spoke to the women about menstruation, the importance of hygiene of womanly parts and she also provided advice on any problems that the women may have. The women shared and discussed issues they have come across such as prolapse and the doctor provided ideas and solutions that the women can use to help them.
