International Women’s Day

Each year, March 8th is observed as International Women’s Day to celebrate the social, political, economic, and cultural achievements of women all over the world.The concept of International Women’s Day first emerged in the early 1900’s. It came into existence in 1909 when 15,000 women marched through New York City demanding shorter working hours, better pay, and voting rights.
