Rural muslim village receives health support through the Gorkha programme.

Gorkha Women’s group completed application 90 for funding a further Women’s health programme at Jhigate. The Gynaecologist from Gorkha Hospital travelled, with GWA members, and together with GDS visitor Ashwini, to a very poor rural village where local women gathered to gain crucial information. Support and individual advice, to include prolapse and other treatable conditions, which many know nothing about. An amazing 58 ladies arrived to take part in the programme; twice the number expected, and all participated fully. It really was a great success and will encourage women to seek medical help in the future, which they were unaware was available to them.
