Trustee Naomi – a few days in Gorkha

September 22, 2017

Former volunteer and Trustee Naomi Cairns has been able to return to Gorkha following a short trekking break in Nepal. However, the few days spent in Gorkha were packed. As well as visiting friends Naomi attended a meeting of GDHEDS, a GWA womens group meeting and walked in the rain to a rural village to join in first of a new programme  funded by GDS.  The aim is to help rural ladies understand how certain women’s health conditions may be treated in the hospital and to encourage sharing their concerns.

As well as this, Naomi was able to meet the Doctor in the hospital to discuss future volunteer possibilities, and also see the new equipment recently funded by GDS in the UK.
