Literacy Classes at Taranagar
The ladies meet for two hours
each evening. Sometimes there is power for light, and, when there is no
power, light is provided by by oil lamps. The room is above a cattle shed,
they work on the floor on rush mats. Such is their commitment to learning
to read and write.
These limited classes are
funded by the Government district education office. They also act as a
medium for teaching health care and simple hygiene. Other villages would
also like to participate and the GWA aim to provide assistance in the future.
